Baysox crush the Cubbies in home opener

The Owen Sound Baysox crushed the Mansfield Cubs to win their first game of the season in their home opener Thursday night at Tom Williams Baseball Field.

Nate Kramer pitched a complete-game shutout as the Baysox topped the Cubbies 12-0.

Kramer, Bryan Post and Ryan Bartley all smacked home runs as part of a 10-run first inning as the Baysox batted around the order to make quick work of the Mansfield club.

With the win, the Baysox improve to 1-3 in the North Dufferin Baseball League standings while the Cubs fall to 2-3 on the year.

Up next, Owen Sound travels to Lisle for a tilt with the Astros on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
