Jr. B North Stars face elimination Friday

The Owen Sound North Stars junior B club is facing a first-round sweep by the Windsor Clippers after dropping the first two games of their first-round best-of-five series in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League playoff action this past weekend.

The seventh-seed N'stars were outscored 24-8 in the series' opening contests by the second-seed Clippers. On Saturday in Windsor, three Clippers scored hat tricks as the club defended their home floor in a 13-5 win to open the series.

Zane Dalpe (3), Xander Derkatz (3), Max Frattaroli (3), Malikye Good (2), Calum Brennan, and Josh Rosa scored in the Windsor win.

Chase Cosgrove got the job done between the pipes.

Tyson Morrison led the way for Owen Sound with a pair of goals while Carter Moran, Luke Grimoldby and Brayden Krueger scored.

Brady Lisk suffered the loss in goal. The series shifted to the Scenic City Sunday with the Clippers coming out on top 11-3 over the North Stars.

Windsor scored seven-straight goals and shut out Owen Sound in the third period en route to victory.

Dom Millman, Curtis Arnold and Carson Stevenson scored for Owen Sound. Lisk took the loss in goal.

Derkatz (3), Frattaroli (2), Brennan (2), Good, Nathan Dethomasis, Rosa, and Seth Martineau scored for Windsor. Cosgrove secured his second win tending goal for the Clippers.

Owen Sound faces a must-win Game 3 on the road in Windsor on Canada Day with game time inside the Forest Glade Community Centre set for 6 p.m.
